Translational Research Domain (TRTs)

Within the translational research domain, FSC establishes temporary Translational Research Teams (TRTs) to integrate knowledge from the basic research in the different Competence areas to support the development of specific new technologies in fuel science. The TRTs are formed by co-workers from the relevant competence Area projects to fill gaps in methods and expertise. The translational approach allows TRTs to identify most promising strategies and methodologies but also gaps in knowledge which will be filled by flexible definition of additional research tasks. A successful example of such an interdisciplinary research is the work on longer alcohols as alternative diesel fuels.
