Cultural Prize of the Eduard Rhein Foundation for Robert Schlögl

Together with the Ernst Haage Foundation, the MPI for Chemical Energy Conversion and the MPI für Kohlenforschung have awarded the Ernst Haage Prize for Chemistry to outstanding young scientists.

On November 16, Prof. Robert Schlögl, Director of the Department of 'Heterogeneous Reactions' at the MPI CEC, received the Eduard Rhein Foundation's Cultural Award endowed with €10,000, which was presented at the Deutsches Museum in Munich.

The Eduard Rhein Foundation sees the occasion for his award as "his outstanding scientific achievements and his exceptional expertise in communicating scientific findings to the broader public as well as into the policy arena".

The jury goes on to say that "Robert Schlögl is not only an outstanding scientist with a worldwide reputation far beyond the borders of his respective discipline; he is also an excellent communicator of scientific themes – Schlögl is, so to speak, a true “ambassador of science”.

We congratulate Prof. Schlögl on his award!
